"I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm pretty sure what you heard is not what I meant." - A. Greenspan (apocryphal, surely

I suspect the above is true of me and my course, but I hope you heard some things that you'll find useful.

"To know that you know what you know and that you do not know what you do not know: that's the essence of true knowledge." - Confucius

Remember Montaigne's question: "What do I know?"

And recall Soros's claim: "I'm only rich because I know when I'm wrong."

Please practice asking -- in your own polite way -- the second magic question: How do you know that? Know what's bullshit, and don't bullshit -- too much -- yourself.

Of course, the first magic question is always: What is the objective? Let your answer to that drive everything.

I've put my materials below. Please buy your colleagues pizza next Friday and share this (MDM) point of view with them.

Practice the Principle of Charity. Hone your storytelling. Dance, don't fight. And above all don't be ordinary -- there's too much of that.

Here're those word lists. Be sure *not* to read the critical word out (i.e., "sleep" and "doctor") when reading the list.
